Abstract

The goal of the study was to assess the intensity of emotional and psychosomatic symptoms in patients of the Maurice and Gabriela Goldschleger Dental Clinic at Tel Aviv University and patients at the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry A.I. Evdokimov during stressful situations. Evaluated and compared the emotional characteristics and oral manifestations in two groups of patients with craniomandibular dysfunction.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to create a new convolutional neural network (CNN) model system for landmarking cephalometric points on DICOM slices of conebeam computed tomography for future 3D cephalometrics and to evaluate its accuracy. The current study demonstrates that when determining ceph points on 3D conebeam computed tomography (CBCT) scans of the head, considering the problem of keypoint detection as a segmentation problem can provide an accurate and generalised performance in the case of a limited 3D dataset.

The constructed CNN demonstrated a mean absolute error (MAE) of 2.78 mm by distance across all points and a standard deviation (SD) of 1.59 mm by distance across all points.

Conclusion. The study shows that the segmentation approach for CNN learning to determine cephalometric points on anatomical 3D models based on CBCTs is highly efficient. The proposed method, when embedded in specialized software, has the potential to significantly reduce the time-consuming workflow used by experts.

Abstract

Abstract: Poor oral hygiene is frequently brought on by orthodontic treatment. Patients fi nd it challenging to practice good hygiene because of the little orthodontic equipment present [1; 4]. Concomitant general somatic disorders in these patients, such as type II diabetes mellitus, might exacerbate the situation and cause soft tissue infl ammation and demineralization [2; 3].

The requirement to consider patients' concurrent general somatic disorders and the adoption of unconventional oral hygiene techniques is thus a crucial component of orthodontic practice [6–7].

The study's objectives were to help patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus maintain better dental hygiene and lessen infl ammation in their periodontal tissues.

The study's goal was to assess the effect of the developed drug on the maltase content of oral fl uid and the level of oral hygiene in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

In saliva samples, the activity of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was measured in IU/l using spectrophotometry. The study's fi ndings revealed that patients with bronchial asthma had signifi cantly higher AST, ALP, and LDH activity, indicating a dysfunctional oral cavity.

The results confi rm the safety and effi cacy of the proposed therapeutic conditioner containing probiotic and borneol for oral hygiene in bronchial asthma patients undergoing orthodontic treatment with metal bracket systems.

Abstract

The child's lifestyle changes as orthodontic treatment with the fixed Fitfree appliance begins. Comfort and treatment discipline are crucial. A poll of the parents of children with maxillary constriction aged 6 to 12 who were using the Fitfree appliance evaluated the quality of their lives.

Abstract

The goal of the study is to determine whether low-level laser observation for patient monitoring and its analysis of orthodontic treatment outcomes are safe and effective. The outcomes of patients' orthodontic treatment with braces or aligners are shown. Susceptibility and control groups of patients were separated. For the whole course of treatment, the effect is continuously successful in the case of a typical orthodontic treatment programme. A good trend was seen 21 days after the laser treatment began in the group where the normal protocol application included exposure to low-level laser radiation on the area of tooth movement.

Abstract

Follicular cysts account for 20% of all cysts in the maxillofacial region. The study's main goal is to develop guidelines for selecting surgical intervention to preserve impacted teeth in the cyst cavity. Two surgical interventions are used for this purpose: cystotomy and cystectomy. MSCT (multislice computed tomography) is an important tool in determining the best surgical treatment. Before surgery, an orthodontic consultation and treatment should be initiated.

Abstract

Distal occlusion is widespread, necessitating effective therapeutic strategies. The effects of treating distal occlusion with functional appliances on soft tissues and bone structures have been the subject of numerous studies; however, the results of these studies are still being analysed, and opinions among practising physicians regarding the necessity, timing, and strategies of the treatment are divided.
