ЭПИДЕМИОЛОГИЯ И ОКАЗАНИЕ ОРТОДОНТИЧЕСКОЙ ПОМОЩИ

Abstract

Currently, the number of complaints, claims, and lawsuits, including those filed against orthodontists, is on the rise. The work's goal is to examine lawsuits involving poor-quality orthodontic care in the treatment of dentoalveolar anomalies (DNA). The majority of the 327 claims were discovered to be claims for the provision of dental care in private dental clinics and offices, primarily from young women. The main reasons that prompted patients or their representatives to fi le claims were: a long period of treatment that exceeded that specified in the contract for the provision of medical services; a change in the orthodontic treatment plan at its active stage; the occurrence of periodontal problems in patients; the need to remove teeth that "suffered" during orthodontic treatment; the appearance of pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) during orthodontic treatment; or a combination of these orthodontic treatment complications or flaws. An observation of the causes and errors of orthodontic treatment, as well as the preparation for it, which resulted in the fi ling of claims in civil proceedings by patients or their legal representatives, will aid in their prevention and improve the quality of dental rehabilitation using orthodontic treatment to reduce the number of lawsuits. Recommendations are made to reduce the number of claims and prevent medical errors.

Abstract

The article takes a look at the morphological parameters of the dentoalveolar system as well as indicators of muscle tone in the maxillofacial region in patients with gnathic distal occlusion and temporomandibular joint dysfunction. We looked at 20 patients between the ages of 18 and 25 who had temporomandibular joint dysfunction and distal dentition occlusion. The examination included a clinical examination, cephalometric analysis, anthropometric analysis of 3D dentition models, and myotonometry, a functional research method. The correlation analysis of morphological and functional parameters revealed a decrease in the values of angular and linear parameters characterizing the longitudinal dimensions of the lower jaw and the vertical dimensions of the jaw bones, the total Bjork angle, and the basal angle. Correlation analysis revealed the presence of both direct and feedback relationships with strong and medium-strength values.

Abstract

Currently distal occlusion is the most commonly diagnosed pathology. In this regard, there is a need to improve the methods of diagnosis and treatment of patients with this pathology. A method has been developed for assessing the state of the dentoalveolar system using the extra-facial vertical line PLV. The method allows to do the most qualitative diagnosis of dentoalveolar disorders in patients with distal occlusion. The average values of new parameters were determined in patients aged 7–15 years with physiological and distal occlusion of the dentition.

The results of the comparative characteristics of the proposed parameters in persons with physiological and distal occlusion are presented.

Abstract

Interleukins (IL-1 and IL-6) are found in higher concentrations in the saliva of orthodontic patients with bronchial asthma before treatment than in orthodontic patients without somatic pathology or persons who do not wear braces. The content of the examined interleukins in saliva is unaffected by the use of non-removable metal bracket devices.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop algorithms for the treatment of patients with lower retrognathia, distal occlusion (DOZR) and dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). We used functional appliances, non-removable orthodontic appliance and skeletal support that effectively performed dentoalveolar compensation of skeletal forms of distal occlusion and also removed pain in case of TMJ dysfunction.
