Abstract

A ccording to the article, the procedure for planning and conducting a medical examination of citizens entering conscription is determined by the standing order of the military medical examination, which was approved by the Decree of the Russian Federation Government on July 4th, 2013, No. 565. It is stated that functional pathology of the masticatory system is quite prevalent among young adults, which is due to early loss of natural teeth and the presence of dentoalveolar anomalies. An expert and clinical investigation of a military-medical examination error made during the conscription of a citizen with temporomandibular joint disease and a dentoalveolar anomaly is presented. Key words: military-medical examination, medical examination, dentoalveolar anomalies, masticatory effi ciency, dysfunction, temporomandibular joint, orthodontic treatment.

Abstract

The study's goal was to use photometry to assess the stability of the constructive occlusion in patients with distal occlusion of the dentition and retro- and micrognathia of the lower jaw in the early stages of treatment. We examined a profi le photo of the face as well as clinical examination data from 63 patients aged 6 to 14 years, performed before, after, and 12 months from the start of the active period of orthodontic treatment in the state of functional rest of the lower jaw and with the dentition closing after a speech test. The number of patients who stably hold the lower jaw in a constructive occlusion after a speech test 6 months after the start of treatment is 43.2 percent higher when the twin-block is used than when the type I Frankel appliance is used. After 12 months of treatment, the differences between groups amounted to 10.2 percent. A positive correlation analysis performed 12 months after the start of orthodontic treatment between the parameters characterizing the face profile and the consistency of the constructive occlusion revealed a very high positive correlation strength in patients using the twin block (r = 0.93) and a positive high in patients using the type I Frankel appliance (r = 0.84).The technique's sensitivity was 0.91 for patients who used the twin-block and 0.88 for patients who used the type I Frankel appliance.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to examine scientifi c publications on surgical methods for treating patients with chronic periodontitis (CP) in various dental pulp conditions. We studied 540 clinical and 120 experimental cases of chronic periodontitis in the area of teeth with viable pulp and after endodontic treatment in humans and animals. The analysis of the study materials revealed the inconsistency and inconsistency of the evidence base, as well as the relevance of additional research in this direction.

Abstract

The article discusses the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment for children with dentition narrowing during tooth change using clear aligners. The researchers examined dental alveolar changes in 35 patients aged 6 to 9 years with upper and lower dentition expansion. Aligners are effective in expanding the dentition by eliminating overbites, crossbites, and overjets, aligning the front teeth, and creating space for normal teething in children.

Abstract

Restrictive measures taken in Russia and St. Petersburg to restrict the spread of coronavirus infection had a signifi cant impact on the pandemic's outcome. Concurrently, a number of cases of patients with fi xed and removable equipment in the oral cavity skipping appointments to an orthodontist owing to isolation necessitated a change in orthodontic treatment strategies.
