Abstract

The findings of a morphometric examination of the face in a patient with a skeletal Class III malocclusion using the computer program for evaluating facial aesthetics «LADAN» are presented in this paper. The characteristics of facial aesthetics are determined, as well as the most significant aberrations in its parameters. The collected results matched the alterations shown on cephalograms of the head in lateral projection.

Abstract

Prior to beginning orthodontic treatment, the results of magnetic resonance imaging on patients aged 6 to 13 are given. The method for determining the amount of articular disc displacement in the sagittal and coronal planes based on age is described. The prevalence of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) was observed to rise with aging.

The goal of the study is to ascertain the prevalence and phases of TMJ articular disc displacement in kids of various age groups, from infants to teenagers.

It is advised to incorporate studies that permit evaluating the condition of the TMJ into the diagnostic process of patients. Early diagnosis of intracapsular structural violations enables prompt implementation of treatment measures that stop the advancement of articular disc displacement, which can later result in the formation of dentoalveolar anomalies and poor lower jaw growth.

Abstract

The article describes the characteristics of children with unilateral CLP who have posture issues. On the computer optical topographer, a spinal examination was performed. Children with CLP's postural issues were investigated and contrasted with kids who had mesial occlusion. Given that all children with unilateral CLP have mesial occlusion, the comparison group was chosen.

Abstract

By comparing lateral cephalogram morphometric aspects of the structure of the facial part of the skull to the norm, dentofacial abnormalities in individuals with mesial occlusion were better identified.

Indicators of incisor retrusion, premolar distal inclination, and molar mesial displacement were found in the upper dentoalveolar region. That is, a propensity for an open and direct bite.

The incisors protruded, the lateral teeth were angled forward, and the lower arch was anteposed to the upper arch in the lower dentoalveolar region.

In the gnathic part, maxillary retrognathia was discovered, partly as a result of micrognathia, as well as mandibular prognathia caused by excessive growth of the lower jaw and its forced forward displacement. In the border areas, an underdevelopment of the main bone was discovered, which affects the development of the cranial part of the face and is dependent on the development of the upper jaw. All of the aforementioned breaches result in a violation of dental and facial aesthetics.

Abstract

The most recent scientific data on occlusion problems show a considerable increase in disease with minimal self-regulation during the permanent tooth growth and bite formation stages.

Belfer M.R., Kosareva T.F. (2020), for example, estimate the prevalence of occlusion anomalies to be 56-89%. An orthodontic physician must detect early signs of functional and morphological changes in a growing patient, determining the presence of potentially harmful habits and disorders of nasal respiration, speech, infantile swallowing, Bruxism, and postural character with changing the position of the body and head in space. In the clinical department of the Department of Orthodontics MSMDU, during the period of formation of the bite of permanent teeth wire labial bumper M.Korna or individual lip bumper in complex with myofunctional and osteopathic correction was used for research purposes in patients with distal occlusion or in combination with deep-incised occlusion.Tugarina allows for the elimination of increasing tooth row deformation caused by hypertone of the muscles of the lips and cheeks, low tongue location, adenthia of individual baby teeth in the lateral sections, and incorrect position of the first permanent molars due to mesialization, rotation, and lingual tilt.

Abstract

The study's goal is to report a clinical case of orthodontic treatment retention complicated by wire syndrome in a patient with a multistranded bonded wire. The issues of a flexible multistranded nonremovable wire bonded to the front teeth of the maxillary arch in a 32-year-old woman 4 years after the end of orthodontic treatment are discussed in this article. The torque of a multistrand bonded wire fixed retainer was disclosed, necessitating more orthodontic treatment. The presented clinical case verifies scientific literature statistics showing the number of patients having repeated orthodontic treatment is growing, owing in part to retention period problems.

Abstract

The findings of epidemiological research that have been published in the literature show that as children get older, dental abnormalities become more common and more severe. The application of early orthodontic treatment for the prevention of severe dentoalveolar anomalies necessitates a paradigm shift in the activities of orthodontists; it is necessary to focus on the treatment of children at the stages of the formation of the dentoalveolar system, which will positively impact the development of the maxillofacial region in children. To reestablish the dentition's physiological development, the authors assigned the aim of creating algorithms for early orthodontic therapy.
