Abstract

Prevention of dentoalveolar anomalies and deformities in children is one of the tasks of modern dentistry. To plan measures for its implementation, there is not enough data on dental morbidity and the structure of dentoalveolar anomalies in children of different age groups.

The authors set the task to study the structure of dentoalveolar anomalies in children as they grow and develop.

Abstract

CBCT is one of the most commonly used methods of visualizing the temporomandibular joint, but the correct description of the resulting image is not an easy task. In our study, we compared the "manual" and "automated" methods for assessment of the topographic-anatomical ratio of the elements of the temporomandibular joint to determine the most accurate method for analyzing CBCT.

Abstract

A new analysis of the estimation of the proportionality of the face parameters relative to the Po-n reference line is proposed. A computer version has been developed that allows an automated calculation of the proportionality of the face parameters and presents the result of the analysis in the form of a tabular protocol, as well as a graph of the evaluation scale.

Abstract

The article examines the general somatic and phenotypic signs in patients with Williams and Möbius syndromes and also reveals the morphological and functional features of the dentofacial complex of patients with this pathology, which is based on congenital underdevelopment of the facial nerve nuclei and the hereditary chromosomal rearrangement. In the absence of radical treatment methods at present, physicians of various specialties need to improve their skills and knowledge about the developmental features of children with this pathology for the timely provision of not only medical, but also dental care to improve social adaptation and the quality of life of such patients.

Abstract

The lack of supporting teeth in children and complete facial growth in adults, who denied the orthognathic surgery, leads to diffi cult skeletal expansion of the upper jaw. It comes down to a necessity for development and improvement of orthodontic treatment methods of such pathology. The treatment method of patients with skeletal transverse defi ciency using digital modeling and palatal expander «Turbo» is presented.

Abstract

Patients with distal occlusion of the dentition in combination with deep incisal occlusion or disocclusion with retrusion of the group of the anterior teeth of the upper jaw have a certain symptom complex of morphological and functional changes. With age, this pathology becomes more severe in the severity of pathology. Accordingly, the indications for the extraction of individual teeth or for complex treatment, including the stage of orthognathic surgery, are expanding. That is why treatment should be carried out in the period of formation of occlusion of permanent teeth with normalization of the forms of the dentition, unblocking of the position of the lower jaw and achievement of the functional and morphological optimum in the dentition. An important counterargument is the lack of motivation for orthodontic treatment in most children. In such cases, motivation on the part of the orthodontist is very important, who evaluates and represents how severe, and sometimes irreversible, changes in the gnathic and dentoalveolar nature in the dentoalveolar complex with non-intervention tactics will be.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate upper airways in patients after the adenoids removal procedure and rapid palatal expansion.

This approach displayed a high level of efficiency in the comprehensive treatment of patients with mouth breathing syndrome and constricted maxilla.

Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to make an analysis of individual sensitivity to structural materials, which are used for manufacturing temporary dentures in healthy young category of patients with the help of diagnostic device and based on these results suggest the best material for using.

We have examined 20 patients from 20 to 44 years old. We have prepared samples of materials, which are used for manufacturing temporary fixed dentures: «Luxatemp» - the first material, «SNAP» - the second material and the third material is «Refine bright». The individual sensitivity to the testing samples was determined with the help of diagnostic device. We have revealed that the best material for using in young category of patients is composite material.
