Special considerations for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment who have positive drug anamnesis. Glucocorticoids
Abstract
Glucocorticoids (GCS) are the most commonly used drugs to treat inflammatory, allergic, and autoimmune diseases. However, a variety of side effects can have a negative impact on active orthodontic treatment and the retention period. Based on systematic reviews and meta-analyses, an algorithm for orthodontic care for patients taking GCS in various dosage forms (deposit certificate No. 2089361) was developed to improve treatment safety and quality. The proposed algorithm is a useful guide for defining treatment plans, additional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and consultations with other medical specialists.
