The effect of therapeutic and prophylactic rinse aid on saliva enzymes in bronchial asthma orthodontic patients
Abstract
In saliva samples, the activity of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was measured in IU/l using spectrophotometry. The study's fi ndings revealed that patients with bronchial asthma had signifi cantly higher AST, ALP, and LDH activity, indicating a dysfunctional oral cavity.
The results confi rm the safety and effi cacy of the proposed therapeutic conditioner containing probiotic and borneol for oral hygiene in bronchial asthma patients undergoing orthodontic treatment with metal bracket systems.
