The manifestation of COVID-19 in the oral cavity (literature review)

Abstract

The article presents a review of foreign literature on the manifestations of COVID-19 in the oral cavity. Coronavirus infection affects many systems and organs. The oral cavity is no exception. Knowing the symptoms and manifestations will help to identify the disease at an early stage and prevent the origination of complications. The detection of oral infection in asymptomatic COVID-19 patients emphasizes the importance of clinical dental examination. Hyposalivation and the loss of taste can be early symptoms of COVID-19 and can be diagnosed before the dry cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, fever, and other typical symptoms.
